Great Expectations

Hard Drive

– The has been a hard drive, also physically, adds Rønning to.
– Therefore it shall be well with vacation in Sandefjord. You become completely empty after working so much. So now I need some time that “take in” the impressions before cutting and editing begins.
The two say they have a very good feeling after recording.
– We have got what we wanted, and the feedback from the actors and Disney has been very positive, says Sandberg.
– The Disney buys through the election of the director, is a brand and style. There we were encouraged, and I believe we have succeeded in maintaining and developing “Pirates.”

Good cooperation
– Hollywood adventure like this is a film genre that we grew up with and that we love. Now we are working with people in the top echelon of the world, both in terms of actors and staff, and it has been a wonderful experience, says Joachim Rønning.
The directors are very impressed with Johnny Depp.
– An intelligent and funny guy, and a unique specimen as an actor. It is an honor to work with him, says Sandberg.
– He is a wonderfully warm and wonderful human being. And Johnny is simply a comedic genius, adds Rønning.
52-year-old Depp worked closely with the two sandefjordingene during recording.
– He likes to be challenged creatively, and we started normally days of makeup in his room, where we worked on the dialogues. Depp takes instructions, as an actor, he will have it, but he also opens for cooperation. Suddenly we sat there with “Jack Sparrow” in front of us, says Rønning.
The two childhood pals have made some of the history of Norway’s most popular films, has been Oscar-nominated and has gained a foothold in Hollywood.
– A lot has happened since we roamed Preståsen with camcorder, says Rønning with a smile.
– We are from a tiny little town, but have always had faith in ourselves and not be afraid to think “we’re good directors.” We have seized opportunities, and it has led us to where we are now.
