(Dagbladet): The American country queen Lynn Anderson’s death, 67 years old.

The family states to the site that the singer, who is best known for 70s song “Rose Garden,” died of a heart attack.

67-year-old should have been hospitalized with pneumonia lately. She died peacefully at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville Thursday.

Anderson was one of the biggest countyartistene in the US in the 70s and 80s, and has received numerous awards throughout his musical career.

Among other things, she was in 1971 awarded the Grammy Award for best performance by a female country singer – just for the song “Rose Garden”.

Music magazine Billboard has named her 70s greatest female artist.



Norwegian acknowledged

The singer was active until his death, and released his last album in June.

She had incidentally family in Norway, with a great-grandfather of Østfold and great-grandmother from Drangedal Telemark.

Anderson visited Norway several times, including in 2012 when she participated in NRK program “Tore on track” to find out more about their Norwegian roots.

67-year-old leaves behind three grown children.
