- Never before have preparations been greater. – Kjendis.no

EIDSVOLL (Dagbladet): Deep into Romerikes forests, a good distance from Eidsvollbygningen, is the filming location for this year’s “The Farm”.

Presenter Gaute Grøtta Dig opens the doors to Lontar Iron Bråten farm, located idyllic for themselves – on top of a hill overlooking the sea.

Shortly kicking TV2 and production company Strix started the popular reality program for the eleventh time, where 14 participants must live as Norwegians did 100 years ago.

– Not to recognize

Never before have preparations and preparation of “The Farm” -gården been bigger, says Grøtta Dig, who will lead the program for the ninth time.

– It takes more and more of “The Farm,” and this year’s upgrade enormous. Production has been working since the winter, and the place is not recognizable. Every detail is thought through.

– Even toothpaste is specially made, he says, without disclosing the price tag of TV project.

Clean historically one can say that the area literally consists of “gold and green forests.” Until 1908 took the mining for gold right behind the filming location, and the farm was frequently used by miners.

Today is owned instead of Eidsvoll Almenning and has been uninhabited for over 50 years. The house has in recent years served as a velhus for locals and Lions, where hiking and skiers can drop in for a coffee.

Will avoid fetid participants

Now the place has changed completely, including the new entrance, new interior, grazing, greenhouse, carpenter, vegetable fields and everything that belongs to a farm in 1915 .

– The size of the field is half of what it was last year, so it is probably a bit harder living conditions this time, says program leader and smiles.

Speaking living conditions, participants are notoriously have to adapt hygiene facilities – if one at all can call it that – which came 100 years back in time.

Gaute Grøtta Dig explains that production still has certain exemptions to avoid fetid participants.

– They get toilet paper, that is. And of course soap and toothpaste, but it is odorless. Bad breath causes poor tv, chuckling broadcaster.

duel on water

This year duel, competitions where one and a participant bust out, take place on the water. They did well in 2013, when the program was recorded in Grimstad.

– duel is otherwise the same as last year, but some adjustments, says Grøtta Grav.

«The farm» -gårdene is known for having an abundance of wildlife, and for years a no exception. Both horses, kittens, chickens, rabbits and pigs get in on the action, the cows come eventually.

The eleventh season of “The Farm” will premiere in the fall. Last year’s edition was the most watched TV for 2 ever, with more than 1.2 millions of TV viewers in the final.

– And it will be just as good this year, promises Grøtta Grav.
