(Dagbladet): If television viewers had to decide would Italy, not Sweden, winning Saturday’s Eurovision Song Contest.
It turns Euro Visions own figures. Il Volo and their “Grande Amore” that melted most viewer hearts Saturday night.
Did Eurovision results only consisted of people’s voices, would thus Italy have won the whole lot, ahead of Russia, with Zelmerlöws “Heroes” on the third.
Belgium got fourth most audience votes, while Estonia is the last country in the people’s top-5.
The people did not Norway
Voice Scheme in Eurovision is now a 50/50 model, where telephone votes and a decreased ESC jury share the responsibility to allocate each country points to the hopeful competitors. Laymen and professionals share thus its responsibility to arrive at this year’s ESC winner.
Norway is the only country that slides out of the top 10 if we pull out jury votes. Morland & amp; Debrah Scarlett respectable eighth place on Saturday will be the 17th space if only people did decide.
So were we, like the Swedes, considerable popular among ESC juries than among television viewers.
Changed in 2009
Albania performs a reverse journey. The Balkan country got an 8th place on the list of people’s voices, but only a 17th place in the final result list. Albania Elhaida Dani and the song “I’m Alive” switching thus space with the Norwegian final contribution.
Jury Scheme was introduced in Eurovision in 2009, when many critics believed ESC show was about to slip into a farce.
2008 edition of the ESC had a number of more or less flippant performances, where the focus was aimed at attracting attention rather than delivering the best song.
Since then, a decreased jury and the people decided 50 percent of your score each, but the dead tie the telephone voices have priority.
Since 2010, both semi-finals and finals used 50/50-scheme.
