The NRK even Friday afternoon. The Tribunal’s decision, which may be the last word on the so-called “cross-denial” -saken, says NRK’s ban is not in violation of discrimination law.
Friday’s decision goes against the Equality and Anti-Discrimination Sunniva Ørstavik conclusion from last June.
The case goes back to November 2013 when NRK presenter Siv Kristin Sællmann received requests from management not to wear crosses on TV. The case ended with complaint storm to the Broadcasting Council, where NRK received full support.
Friday’s decision by the Equality Tribunal pleasures NRK program director Grete Gynnild-Johnsen.
