(Dagbladet): When Dagbladet met Natalie Portman (33) during the Cannes Film Festival yesterday, she spoke about her relationship with Israel.
She herself is Jewish and was born in Israel, and debuts in year as a feature film director with the film “A Tale of Love and Darkness,” a film about a Ukrainian Jew who survived the Holocaust.
– This is something the Jewish community must take up. I think we have to remember the Holocaust and remind ourselves of hatred that has existed at all times, she said then.
Portman also plays himself in his own film, she plays the role of mother of the protagonist.
But it was not just Portmans film that received attention in Cannes yesterday. Also Portmans outfit got the conservative French to widen their eyes.
The actress had in fact opted for a short black dress from Rodarte, with transparent parts.
