Charlize Theron even suggested removing hair – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): Actress Charlize Theron is at the moment highly topical in the movie “Mad Max: Fury Road.”

Where she gives life to the tough, bald and armed character Furiosa.

Theron says in an interview in the talk show “Live! With Kelly and Michael “that she is very pleased with how the female characters in the film are represented.

– I think women have been very misunderstood in science fiction movies. Why do we see the genre every time a woman standing in the background with a push up bra? Why is not there a woman standing on an equal footing with the boys? she asks in the interview according to Contactmusic.com.

– Furiosa is a woman who is a woman, yet she is a tough warrior Max – even with one arm, says Theron.

That character was supposed to be shell was her own idea.

– In the beginning was to Furiosa be ghostly and albino. But I felt it would be stronger if I shaved head. I called George Miller and told him my idea. He was silent, and there I took as a good sign. So I borrowed a pair of scissors and removed all the hair, says Charlize Theron in an interview with W Magazine.

“Mad Max: Fury Road” is the fourth film about the desert warrior Max Rockatansky. The first movie came however already in 1979, and two sequels in respectively 1981 and 1985.

According to Dagbladet fades the original trilogy in relation to “Fury Road.”

– It is an avant-garde action as more reminiscent of a post-apocalyptic circus performance than a traditional film narrative, and that is so masterfully orchestrated that even the 3D effects is emerging as artistically motivated, wrote Dagbladet, and gave the film a six on the dice.
