Måns Zelmerlöw gets death threats after Instagram image – VG

Eurovision winner provoked when he posted a photo where he is with his feet on what apparently is the Albanian flag.

The image that gets many of his followers to race was published just before the Eurovision Song Contest final on Saturday, where Sweden Måns Zelmerlöw walked away with the victory, and Norway’s contribution came in 8th place.

“Back on arena. Chilling out. Trying to ignore the fact that 26 delegations heats voice beside me, “writes Zelmerlöw under the picture of herself lying on a sofa, according to Aftonbladet.



– Disrespectful

What has gotten people to respond is that he has his feet on what appears to be Albania’s red and black flag.

Many believe that Zelmerlöw acting disrespectfully, and writes that he should remove the picture and apologize to anyone who was offended. While some say he deserves “a blow”, the others so far as to threaten his life.

– It does not matter whether it was intended or not. It is disrespectful to have the legs of our flag. Many have bled for the flag. Take away the picture and apologize, writes another.

The image had a chance to get closer to 7000 points before Zelmerlöw deleted it from Instagram. Several Albanian newspapers, according to Expressen captured the incident, and the Swedish police are taking the threats seriously.

Monday should the winner of Sunday’s final in the Eurovision Song Contest celebrated in the main square in his hometown Lund, and the mayor of the city says that they take appropriate security measures.

– Police have been involved from the beginning and I assume that they’re doing an assessment of the threats. It is shocking that such threats occur, and it is very uncomfortable, said Mayor Anders Almgren to Aftonbladet.
