In an earlier interview with NRK director Tommy Sten told that he wrote the lead role so that it could fit into the Swedish actress Noomi Rapace.

The main role was originally meant for a man, but the 35 year old director intended the film would be more interesting to a woman leading character.

– A woman can provide an extra edge and vulnerability to the role, and when I read the script I immediately thought of Noomi. We have talked together about doing something together for years, and since we both were excited about the script we decided to do it now, told Sten.

“What Happened To Monday” is a science fiction film set in a near future. Rapace will play roles syvlinger fighting to remain hidden in an overcrowded world, where it is strictly forbidden to have siblings.

Sten think Rapace can get a challenging job.

– It is clear there is a challenge to play syvlinger, both physically and mentally, for example when you have to record a scene with seven different views, for seven different characters. It is also challenging in terms of getting each character to stand out and make each woman unique, but there are such challenges we like, said Sten told NRK.

According to film journal Rushprint starts footage to film Bucharest in late July. The director says this film is different from the previous projects he has worked on.

– As a director it’s nice to be able to do new things, and although I have been sci-fi geek since I was little boy, and certainly not green on the genre, this is something new that I can not wait to try me on.
