21. March 2006 was the first message posted on the social network Twitter.
“Just setting up my twttr” wrote Jack Dorsey at 09.50. “I just set up my Twitter and my”.
Dorsey was one of the owners in podcast company Odeo. They came up with the idea of Twitter. They wanted to create a website where people could come with short, unimportant messages. As they did to each other by SMS. Still there are 140 characters that apply when writing on Twitter.
