A-ha and Kygo made party of Nobel concert – Dagsavisen

The concert was opened by Bergenser Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll (24), better known as Kygo, while a-ha was last on the program. When Morten Harket and the rest of the band had performed their songs, came Kygo back to the stage. Thus the stage was set for the performance of the 30 year old big hit “Take on Me” in Kygo 2015 version.

The performance was greeted with dancing and clapping from many in the audience, among them Crown Princess Mette-Marit.

jokes about Trump

Tonight presenter was the American former Tonight Show-program leader Jay Leno (65), who joked about the Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump when he entered the scene.

– It is a great honor for me to be here tonight. First I, as an American, public regret for the family Kardashian. Can I throw in Donald Trump there too? said Leno to great applause from the audience.

Trump caused recently worldwide furore with its proposal to deny Muslims entry into the United States.

Also Russian President Vladimir Putin was mentioned in the jocular opening speech.

– Global warming is a major problem, right? Several Nobel Prize recipients have advocated for doing something about climate change. What happens is frightening. At this rate may Vladimir Putin come to take off his shirt in February, said Leno.

Thanks

Nobel concert, which video-linked to 130 countries and can reach several hundred million viewers, was also visited by several other artists. American Jason Derulo also contributed to the conviviality with “Want to want me,” while Norwegian Aurora Aksnes performed two songs. Also the Tunisian singer-songwriter Emel Mathlouthi and Danish MØ was at the concert in honor of Nobel Peace Prize laureates, The Tunisian dialogue quartet.

Laureate Ouided Bouchamaoui, head of the Tunisian employers’ organization UTICA, thanks Nobel Committee and artists for the concert when the quartet came up on stage and told that the Tunisian people love art.

– Come visit Tunisia. Discover the museums, visit the many festivals and art galleries. Let us also invite you to take advantage of our delightful, varied, natural and mild climate. Now it’s 20 degrees in Tunisia, while in Oslo is 5 degrees. Do not take it as a provocation, but rather an invitation to come and visit us, said UTICA leader. (NTB)
