Unit Five Member Kjell Arnesen is dead – TV 2

Keyboardist in the Norwegian band Unit Five, Kjell Arnesen, has died, the newspaper Nordlys.

Arnesen was only 61 years old, and is the fourth member in femmannsbandet from Hammerfest that goes away at a young age.

– It is sad that he has passed away. I think the whole town and all of North Norway and large parts of the country seem, says hammerfest Mayor Alf E. Jakobsen to newspaper Nordlys.

Jacobsen describes Arnesen as a person who contributed considerably to the local community .

– Kjell I’ve known all these years. He was a guy we are very proud of Hammerfest. After the most active period in Unit Five was over, he spent a lot of time playing around in a nursing home, volunteer center and in many other contexts completely free. He was a well-known guy in the cityscape of Hammerfest, says Jakobsen to Nordlys.

Vocalist of the band, Tore Hansen, passed away in 2013 after a lengthy battle with cancer. The band’s drummer, Rune Akselsen, passed away in 2007, while the band’s guitarist, Tore Knudsen, passed away as early as in 2003.
