(Page2): “Journey to the Christmas Star” is one of the most popular Norwegian Christmas stories. It has been filmed twice, has been set up at the National 23 times and is released as a book and radio plays.
For most people, the movie from 1976 which is the most famous version of Sverre Brandt’s history. This appears annually at NRK on Christmas Eve and is a cherished holiday tradition for many.
We’ve taken a closer look at the film and the theater and found some things you might not know.

1. The theater premiered at the National Theatre on Boxing Day 1924. Aase Bye starred . She was one of the foremost actors in the theater for many years.
2. Sverre Brandt was CFO at the theater when he wrote the story.
3. He used the song “Glade jul» as a motive for adventure.
4. The piece is played 1,281 times at the National Theatre. Currently, the last time it was set up was in 2010.
5. There are a number of differences between the film and the theater. The new film, which premiered in 2012, took some items that the first film did not occur. The new film taken however again new elements that are not included in the performance. Both films thus differing from the original story.
6. One of the biggest differences between the theater and the first film, is that the evil witch missing. She and her daughter is an important (and scary!) part of the show.
7. In the theater is not a clown troupe with. Instead, Sonja lived with some nasty robbers, and it is as she escapes from them, she ends up in the castle.
8. The film has also changed the story of Christmas man. In the show, he says that all people have their own Christmas tree tells whether they have been good or not.
9. The film from 1976 was the first Norwegian fairytale movie.
10. It is recorded in winter 1976.
11. The film had a budget of nearly three million, making it one of the most expensive Norwegian films until then.
12. Much of the film was shot at Akershus Castle and Fortress.

17. In the original version, there are three songs with. Two of them sung by Winnie and Petrine, one at the beginning and the end of the show. The second is sung by Sonja when she will give gold its heart to the Christmas Star.
18. Harald Heide-Steen jr. plays the fool in the film. He had to take permanent for the role. This was sitting for years.
19. Knut Risan plays king in the film. In the 1950s and 1960s he played several times the evil count in the play at the National Theatre. In the 1980s and 1990s he played master of.
20. Anne Marit Jacobsen, who plays Petrine in the film, played the Witch at the National Theatre in 1990 and 2007.
21. Knut Walle plays Winnie in the film. He was father X-mas at the National Theatre in 1996.
22. Starring Hanne Krogh got along well with everyone on the film set, but most best with Rolf Just Nilsen, who plays jester.
23. Hanne Krogh has said she rarely has time to watch the film on Christmas Eve.
