Lagercrantz: Tempting to write yet another Millennium book – NRK

The Swedish author David Lager Krantz has been hard hit for his latest book project, where he takes up the legacy of success author Stieg Larsson.

“What does not kill us” continues the story of Larsson Millennium- trilogy, with journalist Mikael Blomkvist and hacker Lisbeth Salander in the lead roles.

This week put Lagercrantz down in the chair by Fredrik Skavlan to talk about the pressures around to continue Larsson’s literary universe, and about criticism the project has been met with.

– Not even Salander can hack my head

Eventually, the conversation into whether there are more Millennium books from Lagercrantz ‘hand.

– How far have you come with the next Millennium book? asks Skavlan.

– Concretely, I can not say anything about it. I just think it’s very tempting to write one since it is now flowing into feedback. But I can not say anything about it, we’ll see, responding Lagercrantz elusive, and insists that he so far has no specific written down.

– But you have an idea? urgent program manager.

– So far could not even Lisbeth Salander hack my head, and it burns when I lie sleepless at night, as do ideas. So I have something good, I think, says Lagercrantz.

Admits that he is tempted

Skavlan lends itself, however, and want to know if there comes a book to the series.

– It is tempting, concedes Lagercrantz.

The author, who also stands behind the best-selling Zlatan Ibrahimovic biography “I am Zlatan” from 2011, has met opposition ever since it became known he worked on a sequel to Larsson’s book series.

Norwegian writers have called the book project «literary sacrilege of the dead”, while Larsson’s friends think Lagercrantz engages in “grave looting.”

The reception of the book was also divided. NRK reviewer called the book unimportant, and criticized the character sketches to be flat and one-dimensional.
