Having denied the rumors for several months, confirmed Sam Smith this morning that it is he who sings the new James Bond song.
It was the 23-year-old popkometen himself who revealed the news on BBC Radio 1 on Tuesday morning.
– It is a big relief actually being able to talk about this. It has been my own personal top secret calls, told Sam Smith of the British radio station.
According to NME, it is no more than a week ago he declined strongly – also faced BBC – he worked with a James Bond song.
– It’s not me, it’s definitely not me, he pointed out then.
The rumors have been swirling however long time. Already a year ago wrote The Sun that Sam Smith was the first choice of the first James Bond song by Adele’s “Skyfall”.
The song is called “Writing’s On The Wall” and becomes the theme song to the 24th James Bond film in the series, “Spectre”, which will premiere in late October.
In the radio interview tells Sam Smith how one day he was summoned to the office of James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli and director Sam Mendes. Then went the record quickly.
– It’s the fastest I’ve ever written a song – it took me twenty minutes – and they loved it! I love that song so much, told Sam Smith.
Thus, it appears to be a happy ending to a successful but turbulent year for Sam Smith. In the spring he had to cancel an entire tour, including a concert in Bergen, after suffering bleeding on the vocal cords with subsequent operation.
“Writing’s On The Wall” published in late September, but there is nothing to suggest that there is a duet in the style of Jack White and Alicia Keys’ “Another Way To Die” from “Quantum Of Solace” from 2008.
Then we had hoped for Sam Smiths duet partner would have been his great Norwegian idol. Whoever it is, you can see HERE!
