– We have been asked if there are papers that confirm a bid from Stockholm, and then we said no. But it is not true that there was an offer from Stockholm, says co-producer for the production of ‘The Snowman’, Piodor Gustafsson Dagsavisen.
Through the company Another Park Film cooperate Gustafsson with manufacturers in the company Working Title about the film adaptation of Jo Nesbø ‘The Snowman’. Since December last year there have been rumors that the recording can be posted to Stockholm and Anette Mattsson, head of Film Region Stockholm-Mälardalen, confirmed already as to Aftenposten, that were considered.

Oslo counter proposal
In May came the news of the same newspaper that Stockholm had laid a firm offer on the table, of 1.5 million, for the recording to take place in the Swedish capital. And then came cultural councils in Oslo, Hallstein Bjercke (V), on the court and offered 1.5 million Norwegian kroner for the Harry Hole to come home to Oslo.
Today reports however NRK that there was never a concrete offer from Stockholm, which co-producer Gustafsson react.
– This is part of a negotiation. Therefore, there are no official papers on it. Before making a final decision about the project so we need to examine the possibilities for financing. As news of the bid to Stockholm came, they had come with a bid. The problem is that the promises we have received from them are public. And how much would possibly Stockholm supported us with, is determined by how much of the filming, we had placed there. So it is with the bid from Oslo as well, he says.
Anette Mattsson from Film Region Stockholm-Mälardalen tells NRK that her film fund has not come with a specific offer.
– We have not, and what we can not do, since ‘The Snowman’ is still under negotiation. A production must obtain a production decision before proceeding with such information, says Mattson told NRK.
– She says to NRK that there are no papers on it. But it is not the same as it has not been a bid, says Gustafsson.
– Does not take something out of thin air
He hopes not the discussion that has now arisen will give Oslo politicians cold feet.
– There is still a risk that the movie will be recorded somewhere else, and we do not get support from Oslo so it might not filming here at all, he says.
It was the head of the Norwegian Film Commission, Truls Kontny, which was the source of Aftenposten case concerning bid from Stockholm.
– I’ve been working on this for so long and has such integrity that I do not take things out of thin air, he said.
