NRK-profile Odd Karsten Tveit would rather go out in the world than to have children.
SEOGHØR.NO: January 1 next year ending Odd Karsten Tveit (69) in NRK after a number of years as a state channel’s correspondent in the Middle East.
His career started already as a summer substitute in NRK in 1978. There was never any doubt what Odd Karsten would do, but it also meant a difficult choice. With the whole world as a workplace he realized quickly that a normal family life was out of the question.
– I thought that I should have children so I have to choose another profession. I would like the world, and I could not combine with being a good father, said Tveit in an interview with VG.
The decision he has never regretted, and today he has a close relationship with its wife Berit Mortensen (51) three adult children.
Fear not cancer
TV legend has it that it was extra good to have his wife at his side when he recently were diagnosed with melanoma under the eye. Although he was not afraid, and today he walks with a patch over the eye while surgeons build eyelid again.
– This is no big deal! There are more important things in the world. No, this goes well, as long as you are early there, he said.
Odd Karsten Tveit is current with the book “The guilty” about the situation in the Middle East.
