Author Jackie Collins died aged 77 after several years of struggle against breast cancer.

– It is with a heavy heart we say that our beautiful, dynamic and exceptional mother, Jackie Collins, died of breast cancer today, writes the family said in a statement on Facebook.
– She lived a wonderful full life and was loved by family, friends and millions of readers that she has entertained for over four decades. She will live on through his characters, but we miss her already more than we can express.
Hidden disease
Collins had battled cancer for six and a half years. It was only the immediate family who knew the writer had cancer. According to People magazine she hid this from the outside world, but revealed in his last interview just four days before she died.
– When I look back I do not regret anything. I have written five books since I was diagnosed. I’ve lived my life and traveled around the world, told Collins to People.

During his extensive career selling Collins more than 500 million novels and over 32 of these landed on The New York Times list of best-selling books.
