Eagles guitarist Glenn Frey is dead – Adresseavisen

Frey was one of the original members of “The Eagles”. Today he had succumbed to disease. He was 67 years old, reports TMZ.

According to the US site TMZ had Glenn Frey’s last surgery in November. Frey has fought the disease for several månender, before he died Monday night in New York.

On Eagles their website they write:

– Words can not describe our grief, love or respect for all that he has given us, his family, the music world and millions of fans.

Frey was to form the Eagles in 1971. The radio friendly country rock band made great success on blockbuster until they disbanded in 1981. And the success has continued after they came together again in 1994.

Frey coauthored band’s biggest hits, including Hotel California, Take It Easy, Tequila Sunrise, Desperado and Heartache Tonight.

After the band violation in 1980 had Glenn Frey a successful solo career and asserted himself also on their own with songs like The Heat Is On and You Belong In The City.
