We know about the filming of Jo Nesbø’s “Snowman” – NRK

Starring Michael Fassbender is already in place in Oslo. Monday, he has his first day on the job as “Harry Hole.”

It’s not a particularly pleasurable universe Fassbender going into: Harry Hole is known as a lone wolf with its own moral compass. He struggles with alcoholism, can be destructive and merciless, but is always a sparkling police investigator.

In the seventh book of Harry Hole, ‘The Snowman’, finds the investigator an alarming similarities in old cases of disappearance – married women have disappeared the same day as the first snow has fallen. And Hole are even part of the case when he receives an anonymous letter signed “The Snowman.”

Now that the snow and cold has settled like a lid over capital, conditions should be conducive to recreate the dark crime world of Jo Nesbø book.

With a film crew of around 150 pieces and 1,700 extras, the residents of Bergen, Oslo and Rjukan to notice that Snowman gets to film. Maybe you get a glimpse behind the scenes before the premiere date, which is currently set at Friday, 13 October 2017.

The big names

Shooting Locations

Norway’s largest production

  • It has circulated various figures on how many people are involved in the filming. According to production itself there are around 100 Norwegians, 40-50 British film workers and 10 Swedes. Just about every technical manager is foreign, while all the crew around the individual Conservation Director is Norwegian.
  • A large number of extras will participate in the film. In all there are 1700 extras. At peak should 300 extras be included in the same scene.
  • – This is clearly the biggest we’ve had here in Norway ever, said film commissioner Truls Kontny NRK.

  • For several years, the Norwegian film industry drooling after getting the recording of Jo Nesbø’s novel ‘The Snowman’ to Norway. Film company Universal has been met with both money and goodwill from official sources here at home.
  • In May, Norway a so-called incentive scheme for film industry. This means that the Norwegian authorities take a portion of the bill and pay back some of the production costs of a film production. The scheme provides production companies back 25 percent of recording costs incurred in Norway.
  • The government has set the 45 million to the scheme, but it is still unclear whether the “Snowman” gets the whole pot. It is also unknown how much your budget to “Snowman” movie is.
  • In addition to the 1, 5 million that Oslo has contributed, as have Tinn industrial fund appropriated NOK 200 000 for the filming of ‘The Snowman, “writes Rjukan Arbeiderblad. Telemark county is built with 200 000 , while Telemark Development spitting into 400 000 , the newspaper said.
