Juritzen lost – must pay 6.5 million. – VG

Juritzen Publishing lost the case as Interpress had brought against the publisher in Oslo District Court and must pay over 6.5 million. NOK Interpress.

the verdict from the Oslo District Court states that “Juritzen Publishing Co. ordered to pay to Interpress Norway AS 6,525,875 kroner.” Juritzen Publishing imposed also legal costs of 185,800 crowns.

– This was a real loss, I must admit. The referee has neither taken into account some of our documentation, but instead opted to give Interpress fully upheld even though they only have presented evidence that they have 100% return policy for ca. half of the conflict is about. The referee has not put forward a legal established that Interpress suddenly shall have the right to receive a cash settlement instead of books, such practice has been for nine years. I have to let a lawyer review the verdict, but my immediate perception is that the judge is based on beliefs, not law. I see it as likely that we are going to appeal the ruling, says Arve Juritzen in a comment to VG.

– Well-written and well-founded

However, it is no lawyer Øystein Myre Slowed law firm BA-HR, which represents Interpress in this case, agrees.
