Alexander Wang’s views are often the place where you can mock the next it-girl. This year was no exception.

A new face on the front row this year, the South Korean rapper and songwriter Lee Chae-rin (24), better known by his stage name CL.

CL is a member of K-pop group 2NE1, and that she has released singles as a solo artist. Although she is relatively unknown in this country, she has a huge fan base in Asia and has about 4 million followers on Instagram.

But it is not just Alexander Wang who has opened their eyes to the Korean artist. Jeremy Scott, current creative director of Moschino, has stated to Paper Magazine that CL is his “muse”, ie a large inpirasjonskilde for his work with Moschino.

Although it is now in the recent past CL has entered the fashion scene worldwide, she has long been a style icon in Asia. For example, she has been the regional face Maybeline, and launched her own jewelery line.

Chea-rin has also gone on the catwalk, and she made her debut at DNKY 25th anniversary in Seoul.

“The baddest female”

The South Korean rapper has been known to the fanbase’s as “the baddest female”, ie “the baddest woman” which is the name of a CL his songs as a solo artist .

Through song she took an aggressive stance for independence, which is rare in female K-Pop.

The rapper explained last year that she has moved away from the typical conservative style of K-Pop, and would rather challenge gender roles.

– Many see Asian women as modest, but I’m very strong, she tells Dazed and Confused.

We may not only want to see more of CL in fashion contexts in the future, but also want to hear more of your music.
