Thomas Gullestad player Jan Baalsrud – Rushprint

Thomas Gullestad player Jan Baalsrud

the filmmakers behind the new hit movie the 12. man has made a rather unorthodox and exciting choices:

Thomas Gullestad has been starring in the film about Jan Baalsrud and the dramatic escape from Norway during the second II. Gullestad is mostly known as DJ rap group “clowning around” and of TV programs such as “The Great Dane & amp; Fingern. ” The role is his film debut.

It will be interesting to see how he would handle such a physical role, which of course also requires complex quality ether of an actor. The 12th man tells the story of the resistance fighter Jan Baalsrud escape from the Nazis during World War II. Twelve resistance men went on board a fishing vessel in Shetland and crossed the North Sea to carry out acts of sabotage against the German occupying forces. They were betrayed by a Norwegian Nazi and eleven of resistance men were caught and killed. Only the twelfth man – Jan Baalsrud – got away.

Director Harald Zwart , who worked on the project for ten years, is not in doubt that Gullestad is right man.

– we tried many candidates before we took the election. It was important to find someone who has the same personality as Baalsrud. Gullestad had to go through many tests and samples, and now I am absolutely sure that he is the best to play Jan Baalsrud, he says to NRK.

The dramatic story of Jan Baalsrud escape to Sweden was notoriously filmed by Arne Skouen Oscar Nominees Nine Life (1957) with Jack Fjeldstad starring. This time the story of those who helped Baalsrud be more important than in the Nine Life , says Zwart. He had previously described the project as “American” and doubted long if it would be possible to play it in Norway. But with Nordic as producer changed it himself. Nordic film put all their marketing muscle in on the film to be a Scandinavian blockbuster and an international salable film.Innspillingen The movie starts in Oslo in April and continues until winter. The film will be produced by Nordisk Film Production and gets theatrical release in autumn 2017.
