In a statement released Tuesday afternoon announced TV2 that they have ordered 50 new episodes of the drama series Hotel Caesar, now in its eighteenth year.
But from January 2017 family Anker-Hansen and the hotel staff no longer to be found on the flagship TV 2. They move over the streaming service Sumo.
Growing digital
– We see that people look different on drama than before. The ratings have been declining linearly television in recent years. Furthermore, we see that the series is very popular in sumo, so to get a better flow in the linear submit the form, we put the series on the platform where it grows, says TV2′s drama chief Christopher Haug told NRK.
Now hope channel that the move can get more users on TV2′s digital offerings.
– Caesar viewers are very active in sumo, and I think this will lead to more of the linear viewers will pass. The series has a solid and good fan base that probably want to follow with the family and Anker-Hansen and hotel on history, says Haug.
Belief in continued interest
The series has in the past years lost viewers linearly, but Haug still think fans can expect continued operation of the hotel in the foreseeable future.
– Many people have over the years predicted that it will soon be over, but we are now entering our in eighteenth year , has produced more than 3,000 episodes and just received an order of 50 new ones. So for the time being there is great interest in the Hotel Caesar.
