Outraged “Hotel Caesar” tab threatens boycott – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): Tuesday it became known that soap series “Jake and Amir” taken off the screen after almost 18 years of TV2′s main channel.

From 2017 the dramas only be available in the channel flow service, TV 2 Sumo, and reason for the decision is according to TV 2 changing viewing habits and increased focus on exclusive content on web TV.

the news gets, perhaps not surprisingly, a lot of attention in social media, and many fans breeds now the canal on the program’s own Facebook page.

– Mister faithful viewers

“I should not have Sumo, so when is my Caesar time over. Find it tragic that TV2 should do to earn more and more money, “writes one.

” Think of those who would not use Sumo. Think of all, most often elderly people who may not have PC and over the years have used the option where Hotel Caesar sent on tv..Det is a routine and a highlight ila day for many of them. “Writes another.

More threatening to boycott the series if the measure be implemented, while others express concern facing the older target group to “Hotel Caesar”. Some also believe that the channel in this case makes “a mistake.”

“Here you lose many loyal viewers that you have had over the years TV 2 …”.

– It is sad

Actor Anette Hoff has been in “Hotel Caesar” ever since its inception in 1998. She also got to hear the news of the changes today.

– I realize the reality of the times we live in, but I think this is sad. It’s maybe because I’m a bit old-fashioned, and not one of those most online, says Anette Hoff told Dagbladet.

Hoff explains that she has had no contact with their actor counterparts Tuesday, but believe that most understand that also the television industry is subject to time.

– Many people think that flow channels are the future. More and more people want to choose what they want to watch TV, and when they want to watch it. It’s hard to say whether we will lose viewers as a result. Either we are really in time, otherwise we lose our audience, she says.

– A Challenge

One of the series’ biggest fans in Norway, Mads Sørbråten (27), fully understand that viewers react as they do.

– I realize that people reacts with anger. In particular I think of the elderly, who find Sumo. For many, it will probably become a challenge to begin to hook up your PC or learn Apple TV to view the program, he says to Dagbladet.

While having Sørbråten seen the over 3,000 episodes have been recorded three times. He explains that the change will not be a challenge for him, as he already has a Sumo subscription and will continue to see the series there in the future.

– I will not be stopping by this change, but I think maybe there will be some negative impact on TV 2, which possibly will lose part of viewers.

Viewers contacts TV2

Dagbladet tells Drama Director at TV 2, Christopher Haug, that they have received many inquiries from viewers after the news became known today.

– There is a great interest in the Hotel Caesar, which is very nice. Some may react a bit on the headlines that have been, but forgets possibly what is positive, that TV2 has ordered new episodes of Hotel Caesar.

Haug explains that he is not worried about when it comes to the older target group of the series, and do not believe the canal will experience viewing deck.

– I can not see into the future, but it is possibly a little afraid of what is perceived as new. User setup Sumo is very simple, and even my mother in 78 years took this in stride. It is clear that everything that is new to be learned. I still think that when things have calmed down, people will be able to breathe a sigh of relief and look forward to 2017.

– Some people think you are doing this to make more money?

– We have done this to give viewers on linear television a new offer, and to get a better flow to the schedule. Meanwhile, we are focusing on at the Hotel Caesar, and give users Sumo an even better choice, he said.
