Han tar over som pianist i «Beat for beat» – VG

MARIENLYST (VG) And the gang is and remains a man trio.

In June it was announced that Ivar Dyrhaug (66) should give up like “Beat for Beat” -programleder, and a scant three months later came the news that the pianist Gisle Børge Styve (45) also stops. The two have teamed up with pianist Trond Nagell- Dahl (46) has been a man of the trio in the program, and although Dyrhaug and Styve persists, there will continue to be the case.

Atle Pettersen (25) was appointed Dyrhaug successor, and today we can reveal that it is Lars Andreas Aspesæter (27) which takes over the place of Styve behind the piano.

Although Styve are very pleased with the successor’s, He had hoped that there would now be a female pianist who found his place in the program.

– It had really been an enrichment with a female pianist, but even so it was not.

– Is it because there are too few female pianists in this country?

– The s not many to choose from, unfortunately. It is you endless female classical pianists, but within rhythmic music it should easily have been more.

Styve emphasizes, however, that he seems Aspesæter is a perfect successor, and he is looking forward to seeing him embark on the new job.

Focus on gender balance

Aspesæter have not even thought that there are men who govern the program, but he said he had also liked to see a woman behind the piano.

– Of course it would be fun to have a lady with. In Sweden they have had female pianists repeatedly in “As ska the track.” But I do not know so many female pianists in this country that I think could have imagined the role.

– The ones I know have their genres, and often is it that they choose artist way. These include Marte Eberson in Highasakite and Marion Raven. I’ve enjoyed being more versatile. Why this is so, I do not, however.

According Aspesæter light NRK actively looking female pianists when Styve should be replaced, and there should have been more women inside the audition.

– The the focus was on finding someone with expertise, whether it was male or female, and I’m very happy and humbled that they chose me.

Project Stian Malme NRK assure that they have a strong focus on gender balance – also the “Beat for Beat”.

– We arranged an audition for pianists and had three women inside. All were talented, but they did not make against whom we chose, he was the best, says Malme.

During the audition for “Beat for Beat” was the man who was the best, but according assistant rector at the Norwegian Academy of Music, Hilde Ringlund, it is mainly the female pianists who proceed under their audition.

– We would like to see a female pianist in “Beat for Beat” next time. We have a number of talented female pianists in Norway, she says, and continues:

– We have 11 women and 7 men on the master’s program in performing piano. There are more and more women among our students.

Head of Department at the Grieg Academy in Bergen, Frode Thorsen, said that even among them there is a majority of female students.

– We educate a each time 15-16 pianists, and a quick look at student list shows that currently there are nine women and five men on piano. So the statistics are positive in favor female pianists.

Content with successor

This coming Sunday Aspesæter in place in his new job, and 27-year-old is looking forward to getting started.

– It is absolutely ridiculous that I now I sit where I all years have seen Gisle Børge sit. It’s very fun to shake over the job to someone who has been so high with me. I thought, however, that there would be more scary, but I feel that it’s going to be fine.

Styve also believe that Aspesæter will do a good job.

– I was really thrilled when I heard who it was who would take over my job. It could not have been a better successor, I mean. He is a bit like a younger version of me, just prettier, laughs 45-year-old.

Styve excited now to be able to add more time at home with family and artist career.

– There will be a new phase in life. 16 years is a long time thus. It’s a third of my life. Now I have not been here every day as people think, but it still has characterized every single day – both for work and being on display. It has been extremely informative and nice. I felt at first that it was a task that was tailored for me, but now I knew that I had to make a choice. I’ve always just wanted to do this, but now when I got the question so I had to think about. I thought about it and found out that I would go ahead, he says before he continues:

– I work as an artist, and is as much songs as I am pianist. With his own trio, Gisle Børge Styve trio, but this fall especially with the duo with Heine Totland, which is out on tour with the show “Music is coming to be.” So it will take up much time, with both five weeks of shows in Bergen and Laughter after Christmas.

While Aspesæter is in place from 24 October, will Dyrhaug do eight shows before he leaves studio floor to Pettersen in the New Year.
