Talkshow legend Jay Leno (65) was awakened in the middle of the night by a telephone call from the Norwegian Nobel Institute.
– It really is a honor, and I will do everything I can not do shame on myself or my country. Besides, I can not wait to leave Los Angeles and 30 degrees in favor of Oslo and Norway in mid-winter, says a jocular Leno in a press release.
The world famous talk show host will lead the solemn concert in Telenor Arena in Bærum Friday December 11th – this year in honor of the Tunisian dialogue quartet.

Leno has a long track record. He is very best known for mentioned “The Tonight Show,” which he directed from 1992 to 2014, with only a small break in 2009, where he had his own “The Jay Leno Show.” Among the broadcasts which have created headlines, then Leno in 2011, Charlie Sheen to talk about their collapse, and when Hugh Grant soon after prostitution scandal in 1995 allowed himself grille of program manager. Among Lenos highlights is when he in 2009 got Barack Obama to occupy the chair of “The Tonight Show,” which first sitting president in a “late night” -show ever. Charity
The superstar started as stand-up comedian and appeared for years on nightclubs home in the US. Talent spans a broad spectrum – in addition to television career he is producer, actor, writer and children’s author.
Leno is also very involved in charity, not least for women and equality, for a variety of health – and for lesbians and gays. He has served as Chairman of the Entertainment Industry Foundation in Hollywood and their charity campaigns – and he is frequently the driving force for raising campaigns to support for victims including September 11 and the tsunami.
Talkshow-king is an avid supporter of his wife Mavis Leno (69), head of The Feminist Majority, an organization that itself has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Norwegian stars

The peace award ceremony takes place the day before. The Tunisian dialogue quartet was awarded the prize for his contribution to building democracy in Tunisia in the aftermath of sjasminrevolusjonen in 2011. The quartet consists of trade unions UGTT, the employers’ organization UTICA, human rights organization LTDH and the national bar association Ordre National des Avocats de Tunisie.
