Filmstudio disprove “bear-rape” in a new blockbuster – NRK

On 22 January next year, Alejandro González Iñárritus new movie ‘The Revenant’ premiere at Norwegian cinemas. In it is Leonardo DiCaprio’s character Hugh Glass attacked by a bear in the American wilderness.

It is in itself serious enough, but after website The Drudge Report on Tuesday published an article stating that DiCaprio’s character is raped this bear, took it on social media.

The film was one of the most popular topics of conversation on Twitter and on Wednesday so the studio producing the film, it is necessary to dispel the rumors.

– Anyone who has seen the film can tell you that the bear is a female bear that attacks Hugh Glass because she feels that he threatens the cubs her writing 20th Century Fox said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly.

– There is absolutely no rape scene with a bear, ascertained it further.

Reactions

It’s hard to know if people actually believed the rumor, but some seemed at least relieved that DiCaprio “only” being attacked.

Oscar Favorite

“The Revenant” is considered by many to be one of the favorites to win a lot of Oscars next year, with DiCaprio in the lead for Best Actor. An award he has been nominated several times before but never won.

Even though the film has received an advance piston is the also been criticized as too brutal. It is perhaps not surprising that the studio therefore went out with a press release to downplay rumors of a bear rape.

Iñárritu won last year three Oscars for the film “Birdman” and may become the third director through the ages who wins a Academy Award for Best Director for two consecutive years. Last time this happened was in 1950 by Joseph L. Mankiewicz.
