Review: ‘Eden “, directed by Mia Hansen-Løve – Dagens Næringsliv

It costs dearly to follow their dreams and aspirations in Mia Hansen-Love’s “Eden”.

The article has been added to your reading list.

“Somewhere in between euphoria and melancholy, “says the protagonist of” Eden “about the music he makes. There is a good description of the film as well, where the director Mia Hansen-Løve composes a kind of biography, or a swan song of house music’s infancy, the growth and decline in France. (Mia Hansen-Løve is, despite the name, arch French but his father was born in Austria by Danish parents.)

The story is inspired by his brother Sven Hansen-Love’s career as a DJ, but in the film he called Paul ( Félix de Givry) and start dj-duo Cheers with a pal in Paris in 1992. He is a wide-eyed boy puppy at 19 when we first meet him, the edge of a music scene that includes Daft Punk and several other names of real house environment. As the environment grows, making Paul’s success, but “Eden” is not a film about finding his vocation and conquer the world.
