NRK fields PFU for matdokumentar – Aftenposten

The documentary “Food War” was cut so that it looked like Agriculture and Food Sylvi Listhaug (FRP) and Orkla manager Peter Ruzicka listened to Rema -sjef Ole Robert Reitan posts during the annual meeting to Dagligvareleverandørenes union last fall.

It turned out, however, that the two were not present when Reitan spoke.

Made false impression

PFU concluded that NRK broke good press and broadcaster was fouled on the Code of Ethics Section 4.11, newspaper VG reports. Where it is stated that “images used as documentation must not be altered so that they create a false impression.”

Rema 1000, who complained documentary on for PFU, pointed precisely that Listhaug and Ruzicka was not present when Reitan spoke. The company also believed that Reitan in the program appears to be both “arrogant, disrespectful and rude” and that NRK has edited sequence tendentious view.

– It is a good decision that PFU makes a clear distinction between what critical journalism and what is manipulation of images, says communications director Mette Fossum Beyer at Rema 1000 to Manager.

NRK has maintained that the cliffs of Listhaug and Ruzicka was cut into by mistake.

Euthanasia documentary

PFU treated also Brennpunkt documentary “The last journey,” which follows a Norwegian woman on her journey to a clinic in Switzerland where she gets help to take their own lives.

The petitioners, among them the Medical Ethics Council, the Council of nursing ethics and the National Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention, said NRK acted contrary to the Code of Ethics Section 4.9, which encourage the press to avoid description of suicide that can help to trigger more suicides.

The committee was divided, but a majority landed finally on that NRK has behaved reprehensible, which is a cast of hands, but a milder form of violations than violations of the Ethical Code.

Non fields for fur

Brennpunkt documentary “Fur” was also treated in PFU Tuesday after complaint from the Norwegian Pelsdyralslag. NRK was not the field, but a minority of three dissented and thought it was the basis for criticism.

“Fur” is a purchased production from Piraya Film and central parts of it are based on recordings made by a active fur opponent. Using a false identity and hidden camera could man to infiltrate a Norwegian fur farm and reveal several violations of animal welfare rules.

– The Secretariat set that NRK should common for breach of good press on the basis of old imagery from farms is laid down. We are both disappointed and surprised that the majority did not listen to this, said information officer Guri Wormdahl in Norway Pelsdyralslag in a statement, according to VG.
