He was surprised with the award after playing a free concert and celebrity football match at Whale school in Oslo in support of Sport Club Sterling.
The jury calls OnklP one wordsmith who hit a nerve in people with its brutal honesty and briny description of the innermost, taboo darkness.
– The text puts on rare open view into words that are both deeply personal yet generality – while being sjangertro spiced with contemporary, humorous images, said in justification.
– With OnklP got it sucks a name. And albeit so dark and lonely: There’s something extraordinarily liberating and potentially dangerous end when the whole Norway – young as old – voices in the ugliness of his back has become one of our closest, continues jury.
