“What does not kill us” is the name of the book, written by David Lagercrantz. Before the launch Thursday said the author that he was “terrified” when he wrote the book.
– I usually say that I was bipolar. I was manic depressive constantly, and I think it was a good state to be in when I wrote this book, said Lagercrantz.
Wednesday night he signed the new book in a bookstore in Stockholm, and the queue outside was long to secure a signed copy. Lagercrantz had his big breakthrough as an author with the book “I am Zlatan” -biografien.
Stieg Larsson former partner is very critical of the book, and two of his childhood friends called the release of “grave looting.” They believe Mikael Blomkvist and Lisbeth Salander must rest in peace, and that no one but Larsson can depict their universe. Also Norwegian crime colleagues have reacted very critically and discussed the release of “literary sacrilege of the dead”.
Larsson’s trilogy about the hacker Salander and journalist Blomkvist has sold 80 million copies worldwide and is also filmed with great success. Larsson himself never got to experience success. He died in 2004 before the first book of the trilogy, “Men who hate women” came out.
The book is published in a first edition globally at 2.7 million copies.
