Crown Prince impressed “Poble” – NRK

Young people and young adults who have dropped out, dropped out of school and who are struggling to get started again, the theme in Kari Anne Moe’s documentary “Poble”, which has official premiere Friday.

Under the Haugesund Film Festival Monday, the Crown Prince again meet the main characters in the film and the people behind.

Important – and difficult

Kronprinsparets funds have engaged in Pøbelprosjektet which was initiated by Eddi Eidsvåg in 1997, and the Fund has also contributed to the documentary film “Poble” which follows some of the participants through one of the six week long courses.

– Efforts hooligans shows that there is important work, it is actually difficult. And it requires courageous instructors and courageous young people who dare to work with themselves, said Crown Prince Haakon.

He says there are many moving stories behind the many he has met the rabble courses in the four years Fund has supported the project. The goal for everyone involved is the same: A meaningful job and a decent life. The requirements are simple: Come on time and be sober!

In the film director has followed an entire group, but special emphasis on two; Jan Olav saywe and Kelly, both tumbled out of school and have poor self-esteem for many years on the side of society. Jan Olav has also served prison time for violence and substance abuse. But both are determined to get on track again when they agree to participate in the documentary.

– I think this work is so incredibly important when, for we need these young people to build Norway come. They have so much to give, says the Crown Prince, who says that he has known the feeling of being different and outside.

He says the film is strong and good and shows honestly how difficult it is when a life should be restored.

– It is not just good. It is not so that if one works correctly then it goes better and better. Often it’s two steps forward and three back and then you have to start all over again, says Crown Prince Haakon.
