Here is Norway’s best cultural communities – NRK

HAPPY: Mayor of Roros, Hans Vintervold, believes there is no way that that municipality for the fourth consecutive year peaks Norwegian culture index.

Enough once the municipality in Rogaland voted the best cultural municipality in the country. This is the fourth consecutive year that Roros tops Norwegian Culture Index, which is about to take a “temperature measurement” of cultural level in Norway.

– we have a goal to be on the podium every year and top spot is of course even better, says the mayor.

Every year stock Telemarksforsking an overview of cultural offerings and cultural activities in Norwegian municipalities, regions and provinces. Tuesday was thus year’s list made public.



– Good at everything

All municipalities have been ranked and measured (per capita) in ten categories: artists, cultural workers, museum offers, concerts, cinema , library, performing arts, culture plus the cultural schoolbag, central grants and volunteerism.

– Røros differs primarily out by being “good at everything.” Although we have brought in new figures and added new indicators in this year’s index, amplifier Røros its position at the top of the index, says researcher Gunn Kristin Aasen Leikvoll in Telemarksforsking.

She says that the municipality among other things, a large and diverse cultural offerings, high public participation and many concerts.

– Røros distinguished by having many concerts of a certain size, a number of cultural workers and measures that the central government finds worthy of support, says Leikvoll.

Worst

At the bottom of the list Advise municipality in Østfold. They were also far down on last year’s index, but falls this year down to last place.



DISAPPOINTED: Mayor Advise René Rafshol, is not satisfied that the municipality his coming out worst in Norwegian culture index.

– I am disappointed by this result. Advise municipality situated close to three cities and many advise services in these cities, but we aim to have a deal for residents, said Mayor René Rafshol.

– While not measure this index if it is little or much culture in a commune. I believe Advise residents have a varied good deal even though we might be better, he said.

Rafshol is also clear that culture is important for Råde municipality.

– There are many activities going on during the year with art exhibitions, forsvarsmuseum, sommerrevy and concerts as others stand for. In addition, as the schools choir, we have an active arts, library activities and cultural events with local, national and international artists.

Last year’s last place, Rødøy municipality in Nordland, ports this year on a 415. place .
