I was one of many who was thrilled the first season of “Mammon”. It was refreshingly original, and had a lovely veil of mystery. Expectations were therefore quite high for the second season, and the expectations were that some of the things they received criticism for the first round was now corrected.
More directors, several authors and a lot more money to do season two much better, but unfortunately it’s a disappointing reunion. We can start with the plot. A well-known journalist and political commentator, Hammern (Pål Christian Eggen) is brutally murdered. The journalist Peter Vera (Jon Øigarden) who we met in the first season, the colleague with the killing and attempting to find out who committed the crime and why. Meanwhile, we follow the political power game between Prime Minister Michael Woll (Trond Espen Seim) and Finance Minister and Deputy Erik Ulrichsen (Ingar Helge Gimle).
