Small anemones extends from the sun. Fog indulging that waves over a fjord. Nature so we might not otherwise see it, he has taken the time to show us.
When he is at work, loser Ola Moen large ships along the Norwegian coast. Once he’s free, he’s often in nature.
– I’ve always camera with me!
For many years he has been a hobby photographer. He has created photo book about home municipality Lindas. In addition, he shares experiences of nature through its website.
Will show Nordhordland
Over the past year he has collected over 11,100 images from nine municipalities in Nordhordland. The result has been a spectacular video.
– Some pictures I can spend a whole day, others half an hour. I have taken up to 8,000 images in one day, says Moen.
The aim has been that all municipalities in the surrounding area should appear in the video. The challenge became to opt out sequences.
– Why did you aim to show these nine municipalities?
– It’s very nice to display them forward. Nordhordland is not what is most forefront in the media in terms of nature. We place a piece behind Hardanger, Sogn, Geiranger and the Lofoten Islands in this respect.
– The response has been tremendous
But with the video he has managed to draw attention to the places he likes so well.
– There have been violent response Timelapse! It took off after it was in the local newspaper Strilen, Moen says.
The video shows not only nature, but also boats and buildings.
– What is a good timelapse scene ?
– Things that change. Actions that are not so visible to regular, often come clearer in timelapse. There’s no sitting and looking at a flower that opens, but with timelapse gets still experience it.
Sacrifices night sleep
To create a timelapse takes Moen happy 300 pictures in ten minutes. Everything is taken with SLR.
Moen says that interest in photography gives him exclusive nature. He is in fact often out at times of day few others are out.
– You usually have to sacrifice night’s sleep. But then makes one experience you would otherwise have missed.
– Did you have any particularly memorable experiences during recording?
– Being looking at Hellisøy Lighthouse at Fedje was special. I paddled over to the lighthouse with photographic equipment in a kayak. I could sit there under the lighthouse with stars and northern lights. It was a magical moment. The camera did the job and I could sit there and monitor the nature.
