Today is the first anniversary since the famous and beloved actor and comedian Robin Williams took his own life.

Williams, known from movies like “Aladdin” and “Good Will Hunting”, won over of his career including an Oscar Price, two Emmy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards and five Grammy Awards.

His death got big mention in the media world and put a new focus on issues surrounding suicide and how to prevent this. It writes USA Today.

– Williams’s death set off a national debate about suicide and suicide prevention around, says Jeffrey Borenstein, psychiatrist, CEO and president of Brain & amp; Behavior Research Foundation in New York.

In the United States took 41,000 people their lives in 2013, where 29,000 were white men.

Robin Williams struggled while in private life with drug and alcohol problems and depression. He was partly detoxification clinic in Minnesota a month before the death.

The actor’s agent Mara Buxbaum confirmed that Williams struggled with depression.

– He has fought against severe depression lately, said a statement from Buxbaum.

Robin Williams played during his career several well-known roles, as Peter Pan in the movie “Hook” spirit Genie in Disney movie “Aladdin,” Sean Maguire in “Good Will Hunting” and Alan Parrish in “Jumanji.”
